Welcome

So happy to be back with you all! Let me tell you in a few lines about this new beginning...

Now that back-to-school is over, it's time for me to welcome you to my new site. The paint is still fresh and, just like moving into a new apartment, a few small things still need to be put in place, others will be modified with use, but overall, I'm quite happy with my new "home."
I'll give you a tour, and then I'll tell you a bit about what's been happening at Lou and Me these past few months and what's planned for the future.

To start, let's talk about decor!
You might have noticed... I have a brand new, beautiful logo. A real one, created by graphic designer/illustrator Caroline Villien. For now, it's in black and white, but could it change colors according to the seasons? It could also be adorned with stripes, polka dots?... A new visual identity that is closer to what I want today. Lou and Me will soon be celebrating its 7th anniversary. My desires and tastes have evolved and become more defined over time, and the 2-year break I just took allowed me to reflect on how I wanted my work to evolve.
You'll find my patterns (we'll talk about them in more detail below), my tutorials whose list should grow in the coming weeks (gathering, hems, pleats, sewing elastic), practical sheets concerning the patterns, and of course, this blog. I'm going to gather all the facets of Lou and Me that have been scattered over the years across old blogs and different social networks, Facebook, Pinterest, or even Instagram...

A new site to start a new chapter after these two sporadic years for Lou and Me.
It went by so fast... my third daughter celebrated her 2nd birthday in the spring. Two years primarily dedicated to my daughters during which I neglected Lou and Me. No time, not really wanting to, little inspiration... it must also be said that the world of sewing and patterns evolved enormously during this period. So I gave myself time to come back with the desire and enthusiasm of my beginnings...
... and find the organization that will allow me to best combine family life and work from home. Get back to basics, call on service providers, define priorities among the many tasks of my activity: "creator of sewing patterns for children"... that means stylist, pattern maker, toile maker, grader... but also seamstress, photographer, manager, community manager, after-sales service manager... Being alone on the ship, it's not always easy to steer! (even if it's a small boat!).

I started by sorting through the patterns: I removed all patterns from sale that I was not completely satisfied with, either because of their style, their assembly, or their quality, which I felt was not up to what I want to offer today. I prefer to think about the future and open a (almost) blank page.

I will mainly offer simple, timeless, and practical designs for everyday wear. Models that are easy and quick to sew, with as few pieces and technical points as possible, to be accessible to the greatest number of sewers. A complete wardrobe for our young ladies... for all seasons, for school and home, but also more elaborate designs for special occasions. That's my (ambitious) roadmap for the coming months...

Thank you for being so many to still follow me today, despite my sporadic presence in recent months (and for having had the courage to read to the end of this very long article...) I can't wait to show you more...
See you soon,

Lydie
