A practical and refined model
Mellow Baby was designed to combine simplicity, comfort and pretty details .
Its secret? A front pleat that conceals the crotch and creates a pretty "skirt" effect, while allowing baby to move freely.
Its elasticated waist gently gathers the fabric all around the waist for a perfect fit and an absolutely adorable look.
No fly, buttonhole, or button placket: everything is designed for quick and accessible sewing , even for beginner sewers. A real pleasure to sew, from start to finish!
Two versions for all seasons
The pattern offers two lengths : Short version or Long version. With Mellow Baby, you can create adorable outfits all year round, simply by changing the fabric.
My Mellow Bébé versions
Discover some of my creations of the Mellow Bébé model, to inspire you and illustrate the different possibilities this pattern offers.
For spring , I sewed a long version in a washed linen seersucker found at Mondial Tissus . The material provides structure while remaining light and supple, with a drape I love for this model.
You know my love for floral Liberty prints , a timeless classic! For a summer version of the long culotte skirt (without pockets), I chose the mustard Liberty Feather Meadow . The softness and suppleness of the Tana Lawn cotton, as well as its bright color, are perfect for this model.
For autumn, I opted for a short version (without pockets), perfect for wearing with tights (I love this combination!). I made it in pink wood mini gingham seersucker from Cousette, with a small decorative button in the center of the front waistband for a delicate touch.
Finally, for winter, I also chose the short version, again to wear with tights. This time, I used ochre-colored gabardine from Atelier Brunette. The thicker fabric is perfect for this short version (but would be, in my opinion, too stiff for a long version).
