Are you looking for a PDF baby sewing pattern to sew a dress or a blouse suitable for all seasons? The Milia Baby pattern is an adaptable pattern, with several sleeve options and two lengths to choose from: blouse or dress version. From 3 to 36 months, it's perfect for creating a DIY baby girl's outfit, in summer as well as in winter.

I love creating patterns that combine style and comfort, and Milia is one of my favorite patterns! This model offers two versions: a charming blouse and dress, perfect for all occasions and adaptable for all seasons.

A comfortable and elegant model

Milia is an easy-to-wear little blouse or dress that follows baby on all her adventures. With its loose and fluid cut, it gives her complete freedom of movement, while remaining elegant. As a blouse, it pairs wonderfully with little bloomers or trousers, and as a dress, it becomes the ideal piece for an adorable outfit.

Refined details for a unique garment

Milia stands out with its pretty details that make all the difference. Its asymmetrical cut adds a touch of originality, a modern and fluid look; while its generous volume brings comfort and elegance. And for even more personalization, you have a choice of three types of sleeves: long for a cozy version, butterfly sleeves for an airy and summery touch, or short with ruffles for a bohemian effect.

My Milia baby versions

To inspire you, I've sewn several versions of Milia, each with its own style.

I made this powder pink gingham blouse version, perfect for summer with its light and airy butterfly sleeves, in washed linen. I thought the fabric would soften, but it didn't, so I don't recommend it. However, for a similar effect, I recommend a seersucker like this one from Mondial Tissus. Cousette also offers a beautiful collection of seersuckers. Timeless and classic, gingham fabric has made a strong comeback in recent years and is featured in many children's summer ready-to-wear collections!

Still in a summer version with butterfly sleeves, I sewed Milia baby as a dress. Made from 100% cotton muslin, light and fluid, with pretty cherry patterns from Mondial Tissus. Be careful when choosing your fabric: some muslins can be too thin or fragile for a garment, which would reduce its lifespan. That would be a shame after all that work! This one seems truly suitable!

A few months ago, I fell in love with this cotton, without a precise idea in mind (it is no longer referenced, sorry). Its pattern and slightly seventies style immediately captivated me. I finally chose it to sew a Milia blouse with short ruffled sleeves, perfect for spring or autumn, tucked under a cardigan. Supple and light, this cotton poplin is ideal for baby clothes.

I also tried a winter version of the dress in cotton double gauze, with long sleeves. This fabric has the advantage of being soft, fluid, and very pleasant to wear. To keep the baby warm, the dress will be paired with a bodysuit and tights. However, double gauze can be a challenge for beginners: its airy texture requires precise and careful cutting. I opted for Atelier Brunette's double gauze, a safe bet: their fabrics are always of impeccable quality and their colors are sublime!
