My versions of the Rakel pattern

To help you visualize, here are some of my creations of the Rakel pattern, sewn throughout the seasons.

For spring, I sewed Rakel as a dress, in a floral Liberty fabric found at Motif Personnel during last November's CSF show. You know I've always loved Liberty fabrics: they are timeless classics. On a simple pattern like Rakel, the fabric speaks for itself and perfectly highlights the cut.

For summer, it's time for a blouse version in gingham seersucker from Cousette. I particularly like this fabric, pleasant to sew, easier to handle than double gauze, and very comfortable for baby's skin, even in hot weather. Its vibrant colors add a joyful touch perfect for the beautiful season.

Finally, for autumn and winter, I chose a blouse version in an ecru cotton with gold polka dots, from my stash. Worn with the buttoned side in front, with wooden buttons, this version offers a soft and perfectly unisex look. (yes, I try to think about patterns for boys!)
